I'm Back . . .

I had my ovary/mass removal surgery on Tuesday.  It was an "outpatient" procedure, which means they should keep you but don't have to.  I wasn't even awake enough to understand that they were reading my discharge instructions.  Crazy.  Well, at least everything went okay, and I was able to come home.  I do remember that they told me I could drive in 24 hours.  Ha!  I haven't driven yet.  I think I'm ready to try tomorrow.  I'm still sore, but recovering well.

The Thursday after the surgery was rough!  I had to go to dialysis, and I felt like hell.  My mom drove me there.  I must have looked like I felt, because Saturday, everyone was asking me if I felt better -- people I didn't even know.  :)  I think I made a pretty wild impression Thursday.  I don't remember much about it.  Anesthesia really takes my memory away in interesting ways.  I've also had some interesting dreams about jungle cats, swimming puppies, etc.  I've been staying at my parents' house since surgery, and I can tell I'm getting better.  It's time to leave.  :)  I love my parents and my grandma dearly, but it's time to go.  I think I'll go home tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your well wishes.  The surgeon believes that the mass was benign.  She took the entire ovary, though, or she said it would likely return.  Now I'll need to figure out what to do about hormones and such.  I return for follow up near the end of the month.  Now to focus on recovery and Christmas.  :)

  1. I totally missed this. But I'm glad you're okay. I hope you have a great Christmas, and I hope the rest of your recovery is quick and uneventful!
